Description
  • team with the White County affiliate of Habitat for Humanity to design and construct low cost, durable, healthy, and sustainable housing

Objectives
  • apply engineering skills to improve the durability, healthiness, sustainability, and cost of housing through certain aspects of house design
  • gain knowledge and experience of the engineering design process
  • provide ease of local operations to the White County affiliate of Habitat for Humanity

Outcomes or Deliverables
  • complete house plans, energy star rating certification (with a rating of 85% or better), window technology, ventilation, safe room, lighting plan, foundation, complete shed design and plans, inventory control system, shelving layout, volunteer tracking system, security system, energy cost schedule, and roof selection

Critical Dates
  • beginning of construction phase in late September/ early October
